  Kim Ierna Kitchen, DDS

For over 20 years, Dr. Kitchen has been committed to promoting dental health and well-being among her patients. Dr. Kitchen graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene in 1978. She practiced dental hygiene for five years and then she earned her D.D.S. at the School of Dentistry at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kitchen has been committed to providing high-quality dentistry in a personalized and caring atmosphere. Always looking for ways to sharpen her skills, she has enhanced her education and expertise with a variety of continuing education courses. Dr. Kitchen’s extensive training includes the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, the Academy of General Dentistry, Las vegas Institute, and several prestigious institutions focused on dental healthcare.

Dr. Kitchen’s extensive background and coursework provides her with advanced skills in esthetic dental treatment benefits that include removal of old silver fillings and replacement with advanced-technology, tooth-colored materials; veneers; all porcelain crowns; soft tissue management; and implant dentistry.

Dr. Kitchen is active in prominent dental organizations like the American Dental Association, the Alexandria Dental Society, where she served as president, Northern Virginia Dental Society, and the Great Washington Academy of Women Dentists.

Named by Washingtonian Magazine as one of Washington’s Best Dentists,” Dr. Kitchen is known for raising the standards in the dental industry. You will read about her in other publications like Washington Consumer Checkbook, and Northern Virginia Living.

In her private life, Dr. Kitchen enjoys cooking, golfing, skiing, and traveling.

  Clifton L. Harris, DDS  

Dr. Harris is a full-time dentist providing general care alongside Dr. Kitchen. After attending University of Virginia to earn his BA in biochemistry, Dr. Harris received his DDS at Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry in 1995. He has since completed many courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, a one-year course in orthodontics, and more than 100 hours of continuing education annually.

Dr. Harris holds membership in the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, the American Orthodontic Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Las Vegas Institute.

An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Harris enjoys camping, biking, high-altitude hiking, and traveling with his daughter Alexis.


Meet the Team

  Stephanie Bullock, Patient Care Coordinator/Financial Coordinator  

Our patient care coordinator, Stephanie, keeps the hygiene schedule and administration in ship shape as a result of her four years in the US Navy. She manages correspondence, insurance processing, and paperwork, and she can answer questions about our hygiene department. Stephanie also has experience with BlueCross/BlueShield as a dental claims adjustor, and her combined experience in the dental field exceeds 13 years. After hours, she spends time with her husband and teenage son and daughter. Reading, traveling, and watching movies round out her leisure time. According to Stephanie, she should own stock in AMC because she's such a movie buff! She also attended the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies' business administration classes.

 

  Francine Mackay, Administrative Assistant & Clinical Coordinator  

Francine manages our staff, recruits and interviews new employees, and acts as a liaison between the doctor and the staff. She keeps the office running smoothly by taking care of the business side of our practice. Her experience includes a total of 34 years, 12 of which she has spent with Dr. Kitchen. Francine attended Douglas/Rutgers University in New Jersey. She has attended many continuing education seminars with Dr. Kitchen, including the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. In spare time, she enjoys the theater, travel, swing dancing, and gardening. She also likes to take in a movie with her husband on date night.

 

  Bridgett Boettcher, Certified Dental Assistant  

With over eight years of experience as a certified dental assistant, Bridgett can anticipate Dr. Harris and Dr. kitchen's needs chairside. In addition, she has expanded functions certification and prepares data for patient consultations and lab work. She earned her degree at Apollo College in Portland, Oregon and has attended the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Bridgett assists in dental procedures and administers Zoom! Whitening and professional take-home teeth whitening trays to keep our patients' smiles bright and beautiful. At home, she likes to work with paper crafts, maintain a manicured lawn, and experience the great outdoors through camping and hiking.

 

  Maggie Gomez, Dental Assistant  

As a chairside assistant, Maggie specializes in helping Dr. Kitchen and Dr. Harris with advanced restorative procedures, CEREC restorations, and extensive treatment consultations. For more than 15 years, Maggie has used her skills and gentle hands to make patients smile. She attended the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and has experience assisting in TMJ therapy. Away from the dental chair, Maggie enjoys kayaking, biking, and crafting.

 

 

  Michelle Neuhalfen, Registered Dental Hygienist  

Michelle likes to help patients with soft tissue management through gentle, yet thorough cleanings, oral hygiene education, and periodontal therapy. She attended University of Michigan and earned a BS in dental hygiene. She also earned the HU-Friedy Golden Scaler Award in school and holds membership in the American Dental Hygiene Association. After hours, Michelle travels, enjoys running outdoors, and watches movies for fun.

 

 

  Vula Kainaroi, Registered Dental Hygienist  

Working in dentistry since 1982, Vula has been with Dr. Kitchen since 2002. She earned her associate of applied science degree from Lakeland College and bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene from the University of Pittsburgh. Vula teaches dental hygiene at Northern Virginia Community College and is an eager student herself, regularly pursuing continuing education courses that keep her abreast of the ever-changing field of dental hygiene. She is an active member of the Northern Virginia and the American Hygiene Associations. At home she enjoys biking, walking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
